App Store not working, Mojave 10.14.6

The App Store will not update or download new apps after installing Mojave update 10.14.6

After searching for fixes and none of them working, I decided to do a clean install of Mojave 10.14.0 to another drive.

Once the installation finished, all seem to work. I opened the App Store and downloaded half of the purchased apps, no problem at all. The rest of the apps would be download after performing the OS X update to10.14.6.

Once the update was performed, I proceeded to download the rest of the apps. This time however, when I clicked the iCloud icon to download the app, all I got to see was the spinning circle which indicates it's about to download the app. 10 min later... it's still spinning!

None of the apps would download.

Using another other Mac (Running High Sierra), I dowloaded the latest version Version of Mohave from the apple store (Ver 10.14.6) Unlike my previous install which had Mojave 10.14.0. and required to be updated.

I did another clean install. When I opened the App Store to download my apps... None would download!

It's pretty clear now! Mojave 10.14.6 is the problem.

Has anyone found a solution?

Thanks

Whew, good work.

IF it ever gets fixed.:(

Are you running any VPN, Anti-Virus, or Cleaning apps?

To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...

Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.

Does it work in the new account?

Hello BDAqua,

Yes my computer was working fine just prior to the last update. I must have been running on 10.14.5

After not being able to fix the problem I proceeded to do 2 fresh installs to blank drives.

One with a Mojave ver that required to be updated 10.14.0 (App Store didn't work after update).

And the other using the same file as found in the link you provided.

Both installations were clean installs. Meaning the drives were formatted and completely empty.

There shouldn't be a need to do a re-install, right after clean install.

Already tried booting in Safemode, since I had read it clears the app.plist, but after logging back in (regular mode) App Store still didn't work.

I always keep auto updates disabled.

Thanks.

I first noticed the problem when Mojave's App Store said I had 7 apps that needed updating.

Which of coarse, none was able to update, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, iNet Network Scanner and several others.

After trying several potential fixes found on the net. I gave up and decided to do the clean installs.

I never deleted Drive 1 which has all my apps, docs, photos, etc. and is running Mojave 10.14.6

Once I realized the problem was directly linked to the OS update version and not software corruption, I selected Drive1 as my boot drive once again.

I had to Mickey Mouse a way In order to download the updated apps. I boot from Drive 2 which has a clean install of Mojave 10.14.0 (App Store works fine). I then proceed to download the updated apps and copy them to Drive 1.

Next, I'll let the Mac boot from Drive 1 and now all my apps are updated..

Of coarse, this is only until this problem gets fixed

That was my first thought.

Therefore, I made sure not to install any software at all on the Mojave 10.14.6 clean installs. Just a bare bones Mac OS X.

Thats how I'm certain it's the update that created the problem.

Dont forget, Mojave 10.14.0 - 10.14.5 App Store worked fine. Once updated to 10.14.6, App Store no longer worked!

Find it hard to believe Apple would let that go. After all, it was their update that caused it. I don't want to hear Apple say... "Well... Just update to a newer OS X, and if your computer is too old to support that, just buy a new one".

That would be completely unacceptable.
