2017 Macbook Pro 15inch Not Turning On.
Hey y’all.
So I have 2 MacBook Pros a 2014 and a 2017 MacBook Pro 15 inch. For the 2017, About a month and a half ago maybe longer, the MacBook made a weird burning smell coming from the top right area. Fast forward about 2 weeks later and now the MacBook has no signs of life. No matter resetting the SMC chip didn’t fix the issue (attempted about 10 times and followed instructions). No luck. When the MacBook is plugged in, it does not show its even charging, pictures attached. Im assuming something on the logic board that controls power died, and what a surprise nothing can be easily replaced on these.
I am so disappointed with Apple’s quality my 2014 MacBook Pro is a champ runs like a dream, these newer ones I can’t say the same now. $3000 MacBook died after 2/3 years.
Anyways. I’m assuming, Replacing the battery wouldn’t be the answer because the MacBook should turn on while plugged in if the battery needed replaced correct? Anyone else heard of this?
Pictures attached are photos of my work PC attached to the same charger and getting power. And then the MacBook.
Please advise.
