i need help

the previous owner wont give me the apple id that was initally put on ipad before i bought it they were supposed to erase it have it ready for me now thats not possible with me making many attempts to ask them . so can i get into this ipad or is it a lost cause . i need help quick please say theres a way .

If you can't reach the previous owner whose ID is on the device and have them remove the device from their account, the device is worthless. Apple won't unlock it for you.

Turn off Activation Lock - Apple Support.
