Airpods disconnecting on a facetime call

my airpods were never really a issue like that but i’ve noticed that whenever people facetime me, my airpods never connect, like i could be listening to music, they will be working just fine, but then when i receive a facetime call it doesn’t connect, i have to disconnect n connect them again in order for it to work, which kinda sucks.

Hey there Carlos_Vargas,

Based on your post it sounds like you're having trouble keeping your AirPods connected while using FaceTime. Is that correct? We're happy to help out.

Does this seem to occur in multiple locations using your AirPods?

Are you running the most recent version of iOS 14.1 on your iPhone 7 Plus?

Have you tried checking the AirPods for any dirt or debris?

Testing after pairing with different devices can also help isolate the issue.

Take a look at the articles below. You can also try reinstalling FaceTime to help isolate as well. If you continue to run into complications, we would recommend reaching out to Apple Support directly to report the issue.

If your AirPods won't connect

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Delete built-in Apple apps on your iOS 12, iOS 13, or iPadOS device or Apple Watch
