old phone won't accept my apple id password i'm trying to erase an old iphone to sell. when I try to erase it asks for my apple id password but when I enter it i get a message that my id or password is incorrect. I know i'm using the right password. Is there another way to erase this phone?

The time has passed for a trade-in I believe. Without a valid Apple ID or iCloud sign-in, the system won't let me reset the password and I cannot sign in to iCloud with the invalid ID. Help!!! I want to erase the phone. I wish I could remember all the things you are never to do to a phone because it will erase the phone, does anyone know? TIA

Are you the original purchaser of the phone? You will have to provide Apple with the original proof of purchase for the phone to have the activation lock removed if you can't access the account that was used to lock it.
