New Mac book air
I just added my google email to my new Mac book but all the folders did not show why is that?

Which email app do you use on your MacBook Air? I ask because if you are using the Apple Mail app then the setup is very straight forward and your Gmail account will be added as an IMAP account as it should. If you are using a third party email app then ensure that your Gmail account is setup as an IMAP account.
