Monitor Display wont connect?

My monitor &i-tec adapter wont connect when i plug into the my mokin adapter but will connect when i plug the monitor's i-tec adapter into the mac. the mokin adapter works and tested on another to make sure but not sure what i need to do or am doing wrong?


im using an adapter for the monitor to attach to the adapter and then to the mac would this be it? do two adapters not work on each other?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

  • "If you're using more than one video adapter to connect your display (the adapters are "chained" together), try connecting the display using only one adapter if possible. Some video adapters can't be connected together. For example, a mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter can't be connected to a DVI to HDMI adapter."
