For example I have a folder containing all emails about a vacation in 2018. It would be great if it didn't clutter my account but I'd really like to retain in an archive. It would be quite inconvenient to move individual messages.

Right click on mail folder and export mail box , it will be active only in IMAP account and not from web iCloud.com

I was afraid my query would be misinterpreted. I want to archive the folders along with their messages, not just the messages.
How can I archive entire icloud mailbox folders? If icloud doesn't support it directly, is there an alternative?
