Number still connected to old RESET iPhone 7 Plus ??

I have an old 7 Plus that I reset and erased all settings and data so that I can give it to my son. The phone has no SIM. All other data and settings erased except when I add my name and number to contacts. My number shows up at the top as 'My Card'. Whyyy and HOW is my number still attached to this phone if it's been factory reset??

Hey Akcogley,

It sounds like you reset your iPhone and still see your phone number and name as 'My Card' after this. We'll do our best to help sort this out.

Did you follow these exact steps to restore it to factory settings: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

Did you sign in during the set up process? Either to iCloud or using your Apple ID? If so, this would be expected behavior. As it associates the device with your information.

Can you update the 'My Card' by going to the Contacts app, selecting on the My Card, deleting the card/contact, locating a new contact and then click 'Edit' to select it as 'My Card'?

If it persists, you could always erase your device and remove it from iCloud, if you had it signed in. This would remove all data. Here's how to accomplish that: Erase a device in Find My iPhone on iCloud.com

Taking these steps should resolve it for you, but in case it doesn't, we'd suggest to Contact Apple Support

Wishing you the best, take care!
