tvOS 17.1 Update bricked my Apple TV 4K 1st Gen This morning while trying to update my Apple TV 4K 1st gen to tvOS 17.1 the same thing happened, it told update failed, and when I tried to update again it landed in the Hello screen, and tried to restore it by pressing the menu + TV button it did nothing and just a blank screen with white light blinking. This is not at all acceptable for a normal user update, and there is no USB port for restoring, So I gave it to Apple repair center for diagnostics and will update on its progress. Also, there are posts on Reddit that same issue has happened to people with Apple TV 4k 1st gen especially with tvOS 17 Update, So I think Apple should look into this issue and sort it out immediately

Apple TV won’t update Hi, I have a brand new 64GB 4th Generation Apple TV that is stuck on TVOS 9. Every time I try to update the software it goes through the process then tells me the update has failed. I’ve tried restoring it and resetting it but still get the same error. How can I get this to update please?

Issue with Apple TV gen 3. Can’t update running version 7.5 cant update software just see computers and settings on main page cant log on to itunes cant log on to icloud tried restart tried WiFi in 2 different locations tried with cat5 connection cant restore it won’t work any ideas appreciated thanks steve

You can try unplugging the unit and reconnecting. Failing that then you would need to take it to Apple so they can restore it.
