"An update is required to activate your iPhone"

iPhone 11 pro max 1st issue was the volume and camera weren't working and the phone would turn off and on by itself. Then started having issue of it not connecting to my cellular. I took to my carrier and they gave new SIM card and reset settings still same problem. Phone is now not connecting to my cellular I backed it up and restore it and now it is saying an update is required to activate your iPhone but the phone is up to date. It also is not connecting to my Mac giving me the message of Activation Failed so I cant view the phone at all. Help??

I’m not sure that anything in here will help, but you can take a look at it.

If you can't activate your iPhone - Apple Support

If nothing in there helps, or if you have already been through those steps, there s a link at the end of the article whereby you can contact Apple for help. You should probably ask Apple for help at this point.

One other thought, did you try removing the sim card and reinsert it?

I think that this is the message that you are getting. If it is, go ahead and apply the update so that you will be able to connect the phone to your Mac.

If you see "Software update is required to connect to your iOS device" on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

My apologies. When I saw that you couldn’t connect to the Mac I assumed that was the message even though you said otherwise. Can you get into the phone’s settings? Did you check for a cellular update in the settings?

Unforntuantely I have not received this prompt and my computer and phone were last updated before I tried to restore my phone so I don't think thats the issue but thank you for your timely reply, time and consideration

Oh no worries you're fine. I cant get into the phone at all. Once I restored the phone after I finish setting-up wifi it will then give me the unable to activate "an update is required to activate your phone Learn more at apple.com/support and then will give me the option to shutdown phone.
