It is not malware. Those files were installed as a consequence of installing printer drivers from HP. HP caused that problem and only HP can fix it.

Do not install anything in an effort to fix it.

I am getting this popup "ProductImprovementStudy will damage your computer" How do I remove this popup from my macair monitor screen?

How to delete this from my computer“ProductImprovementStudy.hptask” will damage your computer.

At your option you may delete that file. It was never required to begin with. It and other files associated with installing HP printers have been blocked from loading and are now doing nothing anyway. Deleting the specific file in that dialog box will not prevent your HP printer form working.

Once again do not install anything in an effort to get rid of it. Downloading and installing anything claiming to "scan" or "protect" your Mac will result in serious trouble.

My older MacPro recently started receiving pop-up boxes with messages that ended with .hp task. I reinstalled my HP Printer and I tried various fixes deleting .hptask items listed in the Activity Monitor and from Trash. Nothing worked until I deleted "hp device monitor" from the Activity Monitor and then deleted the "hp device monitor" from Trash and then rebooted my computer. Hope this works for you.
