Search (Find) doesn't work after upgrading to Catalina

I upgraded to Catalina, and now my search (find) function doesn't work anymore. I type in the name of the file I'm looking for, and it may or may not show up. Burt a whole bunch of meaningless other files turn up in the search!

I saw an earlier string on this, but didn't see a solution
