Google Chrome is overheating my MacBook Pro

This has been happening from the moment I pulled my new MacBook Pro out of the box last January. The problem subsided for a while but now I can't run Chrome for longer than a couple of hours before the bottom of the laptop gets hot and the fan kicks in.

Other than using another search engine, does anyone have suggestions? Thanks.

The Google Chrome web browser (and any other browser which uses the Chromium source) is known to use lots of system resources (CPU & memory) causing the computer to slow down, the CPU to use a lot more computing cycles causing the CPU to run really hot. The search engine you use doesn't affect the performance of the computer.

Try using Safari or Firefox to see if it helps.
