What URL do I use to make the 'Apple favourites'/'startup page' my homepage?

My favourites used to open in a new tab before I changed it, how do I set it back? 'Set to current page' is greyed out when I'm on the safari startup page, I just want it back as the default.

Safari Favorites For 2 years I have been able to open safari on my MacBook and see my favorites. Even when I click on the search bar, my favorites would come up. A few days ago, my favorites just disappeared and I haven't been able to get them back. The sites I had as my favorites are under the bookmarks tabs in favorites, and my preferences are selected to open favorites when I open safari or a new tab, and my iPhone still has my favorites when I open safari. I have tried changing the setting in preferences, and then changing it back, shutting down safari, restarting my MacBook, and even updating to the newest software update. Is there anything I can do to get my favorites back? It is driving me crazy.

Opening favourites in a separate tab with just one click and not losing the current page In my favorites bar (below the URL in safari) I would like it so that when I click one of them, it opens in a new tab default (rather then the current page). How do I accomplish this, is there a workaround? I dont want to have to press cmd every time.

Favorite buttons I need to delete Favorites that pop up -- like Yahoo, Trip Advisor, Bing, etc. I don't want my homepage to be Amazon.com. I have cleared history until I'm blue in the face. I want to be able to edit those Favorites to reflect websites I use -- not those I don't use. This is a brand new iMac; not an iPhone. I just used an antivirus today and still can't get rid of Favorites. They're either buttons or a little list of stuff under the Search field. What in the hell do I have to do????????

i would guess that you need to go to Safari>Preferences under the General tab and look at what your tabs are set to open with.

and in the same place, maybe look at "Favorites shows".
