All my Photos went to iPhone storage when sighed out of iCloud

Hi, I sighed out of iCloud then later sighed back in. Then doing this caused all my photos to move into my iPhone storage and if I want to turn on iCloud it comes up with a message saying on my iPhone “this phone is storing 33.3gb of photos and videos and you currently have 4.07gb available” I had 4.07gb available before I sighed out of my iCloud but now all my photos have copied on my iPhone and can’t turn on iCloud photos. How could I turn on my iCloud photos back on?

If you wish to turn back on iCloud Photos, you will have to consider purchasing extra iCloud storage and also use the feature Optimize Phone Storage under Settings > Name > iCloud > Photos.

Only way to revert to the way it was before, or as you say "back to normal", i.e. using iCloud storage, would be to consider purchasing extra iCloud storage even if temporarily.

Before i signed out I had the same storage than I do now. I didn’t take any photos either. I think all my photos got copied into my phone storage. If you go on yak phone storage and look at photos it has the same gb as I cloud so it is a copy. That’s why I’m not going to buy more storage

If I did that would it get rid of all my duplicates as on my iPad and look at photos all the photos are the same on my iPhone but on my iCloud I’ve got over 7,000 and on my phone I’ve just gone over 4,000

I don’t think so, but let’s say the option was picked how do I fix it and put my photo album back to normal. Because that means that all my photos are double ups in I upgrade my iCloud storage

Was it possible that when the photos were stored in iCloud you were possibly using the Optimize Storage feature? Not that the photos are solely on your device, that feature would not in use hence the possible increase?
