AirPods not pairing with Samsung Smart TV

My AirPod pros are recognized by my Samsung Smart TV but show they still need to pair. I have tried everything I can think of. Please help!

Contact Samsung support for directions on how to pair Bluetooth devices.

also place your AirPods in pairing mode:
