phone does not ring at incoming calls

Approx. 40-50% of the time only the screen shows there is an incoming call, but no ringtone. I am using the default ringtone and the volume set to the maximum. At the very next call usually there is no problem the phone is ringing, but later the problem happens again. It happens anywhere not only at home and with calls from different people. I have many missed calls because of this problem. Do not disturb is not on, and not phone is not silenced.

Model: iPhone 8 with iOS 14.1

I've seen other people experiencing the same.

Thank you!

Hey there HareKrisna,

We understand there are about half of your calls that do not ring. You see the call on the screen but there is no audio alert. We'll be happy to help.

To begin, we'd recommend starting with the steps here: If you can't make or receive calls on your iPhone

Specifically, the steps from the section "Check your iPhone settings" may be useful. This will guide you through checking for blocked numbers, call forwarding, and Silence Unknown Callers.

Also, we know you mentioned Do Not Disturb was not on. However, we'd recommend double-checking the that the scheduled option for Do Not Disturb is also off. You can find that via: Settings > Do Not Disturb

Let us know how that goes or if you have any questions. Cheers!
