Is anyone else experiencing a bright reflection when shooting towards a light source. On both the 1x and 2x I am getting a bright reflection that appears in the photo. (iPhone 12 pro was not listed in the device options below)

I have contacted Apple and they are replacing my iPhone 12 Pro after I sent them sample photos of the ghosting/reflections in the images. A $300 point and shoot digital camera produces lens flare, as does a $10,000 professional DSLR kit--but neither will produce the ghosting/reflecting I and others are seeing with photos taken with these faulty Apple lenses. The problem Apple has with the iPhone lens is NOT lens flare, it's ghosting/reflecting.
I did a camera test with my iPhone X and I had nice lens flares--as was to be expected--but again I didn't see any ghosting/reflections like I am seeing with the 12 Pro. If the replacement phone has the same issue, I'm going to get a refund. There is nothing "Pro" about using a camera that doesn't work as advertised.

You need to get a more modern lens or remove whatever filter you have on
oh no sir. i've used dslr for years and didn't get those. do you have the stamp on that photo that it was really taken using a dslr
Some retailers will refund for whatever reason as a customer service gesture.
Lens flare/reflection is not a defect, so most retailers will not issue a refund for normal behavior.
Completely normal and expected.
Or maybe tell Apple not to be that cocky and actually to invest some of their freakin billions in developing good cameras for a overpriced phone :)

I have a 13 Pro Max and don't see the problems you are getting. Have you made a Genius Bar appointment and had them look at your pictures and your iPhone.
Never had this issue with my Canon ever! I’ve never had so much glare as I have with this iPhone.
I have read this post and your comment is not true. As others before have said there is an issue. I never had this with previous iPhones or my regular canon.
I will look into it. Indeed frustrating. Pics I took with my Canon or previous iPhones were never this bad. I too have the 12 pro max
i don't know what the issue your repair center found is, but when your phone is repaired, it will still exhibit flare as seen elsewhere in this thread.
You can't fix normal.
If you want to have your camera replaced, feel free, but this is completely normal and the replacement will do the same.

Have you read the other 65 pages of the thread?
As stated previously, that’s completely normal, and you can’t fix normal.
The fix is to recompose your shot to change the angle at which extremely bright light is entering your lens.
