Mail doesn't work after two-factor authentication

Apple duped me into setting up two-factor authentication—I didn't know it was a permanent choice—and now my MacBook Pro (Mojave) won't retrieve or send mail. I can see and send mail via iCloud but that's not the same thing. Does anybody have a simple fix? Or any fix at all?

Use a New App Password:

So, do you use an app password for your eMail? If so, whomever your eMail provider is, visit their site, and create a new App Password. You would remove the eMail account, and sign back in, using the App Password you just created.

Hi TheLittles! Thanks for being out there. I just needed to set up iCloud for two-factor authentication in my Preferences panel. It was a pain because I didn't expect the surprise this morning, and two kids and a puppy running around make it difficult to think things through. Everything seems to be up and running, fingers eyes and toes crossed. Thanks!
