How to put iPad Pro 3rd gen into recovery mode?

how do I put this iPad into recovery mode. I tried holding the power button and the vol down and the vol up buttons. what am I doing wrong

Recovery mode requires you to press and hold both the Top (Sleep/Wake) and Home buttons simultaneously. When the Apple logo appears you can either:

a) release the buttons - and the iPad will force-restart.

b) continue to hold the buttons until you trigger the recovery mode.


Once in recovery mode, you must connect your iPad to a PC (with iTunes installed) or a Mac (with iTunes or Finder - as appropriate for the installed version of macOS) to restore the iPad.
