Deleting an email from my iPad

I have moved a Particular from the inbox and sent it to the trash. Emptied the trash and restarted the iPad. Email is gone but with in a matter of hours it's back in the trash. This has been going on for 6 months.

Any ideas or suggestions...?

If your email provider offers a webmail option, you might use that see whether the problem email is in the trash there also. If it is, try emptying the trash there with the iPad powered off. If it comes back again before the iPad is powered on again, the problem must be on the email server (or at least not on the iPad).
