New AirPods Pro Force Sensor

I just unboxed my new AirPods Pro today, and while attempting to figure out all the fiddly controls, discovered that the force sensor on the right pod doesn’t work. Can’t get the tick or activate any controls on the right side. Left seems to work OK, but after countless adjustments on finger placement, still can’t get the right side to respond. This seems to be a recurring thing with these based on older posts. What I didn’t find was a solution.
