Lighting cable is not working from one side

I purchased ipad (7th generation) one day ago. When I tried to charge it, the charging cable is not working from one side. When I tried by inserting it with other side, it worked. Is there any problem with the cable or ipad. Whom should I contact for this?

Thanks for your help.

iPad, 13

Your issue is very likely the Lightning to USB cable.

The Lightning cable is, as you correctly observe, double sided - allowing you to insert the plug in either orientation. The iPad, by contrast, has connecting contacts on only one side.

As such, if reversal results in a good connection, the cable itself is almost certainly defective. The Lightning to USB cable is relatively low cost - and easy to replace.
