iPhone 12 Pro Lock Sound Issue

Ok. So what do we have so far. Reading through this thread only:

Those users that HAVE been using MagSafe are having the problems with system sounds and notification sounds.

Those who have NEVER used a MagSafe device have also experienced the same problems with notification sounds and system sounds.

Rebooting the system temporarily fixes the problem temporarily for some of us.

Also, it does not seem to be happening to “everybody“ that has a newer iphone.

I would think that it is a bug in the operating system, and not just a MagSafe issue. But it seems more prominent in those that have MagSafe than those that don’t. We can only hope that the new iOS coming out will address this issue for all of us.

No, the sound on my iPhone 12 is great, there was an issue with the lock sound due to MagSafe but I sorted that and posted how I fixed it.

sou d is superb, keyboard sounds are fine and do t get any louder the more I type.

let’s hope Apple sort out whatever is the probe

I have upgraded to iOS 14.2. At first it was working. But after removing and reinstalling my MagSafe silicone case the issue was back. So iOS 14.2 does not solve the problem.

Indeed, updated to final 14.2 and issue is back again... disappointing... I deactivated the lock sound in the settings...

I have the same bug when I use the magsafe accessories. Does 14.3 b1 solve this problem?

I concur. I reboot phone and take off mag case from Apple and it works. Put case back on and it makes muffled weird lock noise.

Has anyone noticed that the lock sound stays consistently normal when using AirPods? I haven’t been able to recreate the issue while using headphones or AirPods.

seemed the same to me after updating to 14.2.1 today. but it wasn't listed in the change log. I think this one is primarily for missing sms notifications and the 12 mini touch problems.

i don’t think it’s hardware at all. If it was it would likely be a much larger issue and wouldn’t be a problem with only the lock sounds and typing sounds.

Yes, even for me with 14.2.1 the issue is still persisting after using the MagSafe charger

Same problem with me in iPhone 12 Pro Max, even I’ve updated to beta 14.3 (18C5054c), hope dev team will solve this problem on release version.

Just updated to 14.3 and the bug is still there. Finally went into settings and turned the lock sound off. Hopefully this gets fixed eventually.
