When I click on Trends, my running pace for October 17-24 is listed as 9’05”. When I go to workouts, my three runs during that period are 8’37”, 8’25”, and 8’35”. I also have a random

walking average for August that shows my pace at 4’0”, and no data in the workout tab to support that wild pace. Curious- where is the data for trends pulled from that accounts for this discrepancy? How do I ensure trends is using valid data?

Hi there, MarissaMcQ,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

We understand there appears to be some discrepancy in your trends. Trends are based on how your metrics have moved over the last 90 days as compared to the last 365 days. You can learn more here: Track your trends in the Activity app

To ensure that your data is correct, we'd recommend that you calibrate your Apple Watch: Calibrating your Apple Watch for improved Workout and Activity accuracy

We hope this helps.

Take care!

Again, the three data points are 8’37”, 8’25”, and 8’35”, and the watch is recording the average as 9’05”. I am not questioning the accuracy of the data points, I am questioning how the AVERAGE PACE is higher than ALL THREE data points.

To simplify, I ran once in between October 14-21. That ONE RUN was at a pace of 8’37”, making my mathematical average 8’37”. Yet, the app has my average for that seven day period as 9’28”. While all of your responses seem to think my run time was incorrectly recorded, the actual issue is that the app does not seem to be calculating the average based on the data I am seeing in the workout tab of the Fitness app. I think we all agree that 8’37” divided by 1 is 8’37”- why does my watch disagree?
