I have an Apple TV 4th gen and also and iPhone 6s Plus. I’m signed into both of them with the same Apple ID and as a result with the same game centre id. Can my son and I play the same game together: me on the iPhone and him on the Apple TV? Thanks.

Some games have ‘playing together’ meaning as competing on a shared leaderboard and comparing achievements.
Other games allow for two (or more) simultaneous players on the same screen (local multiplayer).

It depends on the game.
