MacBook Pro 16 2019 & External Monitor

Hi Community, here is my question

I just upgraded my MacBook Pro 13'' 2016 to a 16'' 2019 and I'm having troubles with the connection to an External Monitors.

My monitors are Full HD 1080p and they used to work perfectly well with my previous MacBook, but with the new one, I can't see the all the desktop on mi external monitors and the image goes over the edges of the monitor (really weird). If I move the dock to the monitor, it appears cut in half.

I'm using HDMI adapter between the Mac and the monitor and I already tried to change the resolution of both but not successfully :(.

It's time for me to change my Monitor or there's something I can do to everything to look great as it used to ?

OK, then you may need to change the display resolution.

The automatic setting is generally called "Best for Display". More setting options may be available if you hold the Option key and click on the word "Scaled". Sometimes additional controls, such as under scan/overscan are also revealed.

Well, the answer (or the problem) was on the cables HDMI-HDMI. I changed them for a HDMI-DVI cables and the Overscan problem is gone. Everything works great now.

I think that we're close to the solution, or maybe just close to the right answer of the problem :P.

You just said the right word... OverScan ! The bad news is that the display settings is not showing this option. I'm reading more about this issue, but you gave me a new path to follow... Thanks !

Hi ! Thanks for you reply but I'm afraid that the option is already unchecked, I'm already seeing different content on the Mac and the Monitor.

check the setting of [√] Mirror displays. When you check that box, it runs BOTH displays from the same display generator, and forces them both to use the exact same "compromise" resolution. Sometimes one or both do not do well with that compromise.
