iPhone 12 pro won’t wirelessly charge

Picked up new phone. It will not charge on my Qi wireless charger. My family members’ iPhone X and 11 charge fine. Mine initially shows the green battery, then it disconnects from charging and the charger flashes a blue LED, signifying it is no longer connected. This despite using different charger blocks.

Sorry, but your assertion it's not the charger because it works with previous phones is the wrong analogy for iPhone 12. The charging coil in iPhone 12 is not in the same spot as it was in previous phones to accommodate MagSafe. That doesn't mean iPhone 12 isn't compatible with Qi chargers. It actually is. But it likely means your current chargers may not position the charging coils properly with the relocated spot on iPhone 12.

We had charging issues when we first got iPhone 12 and 12 Pro Max. After much research, I came to the conclusion my older chargers weren't going to work with iPhone 12. So I bought new chargers and haven't had any issues since. Our new chargers are dual coil and were repositioned to better align with iPhone 12. And this is important, many older chargers don't have higher watt QC 3.0 charging bricks. So my new chargers have 18W QC3.0 bricks. Bam, no issues charging wireless since and it's been over 2 months now.

For those of you who are willing to try this, I suggest you do a DFU restore. This will install the latest version of the Baseband, and a completely fresh copy of iOS on the phone. A DFU restore has cured issues for some people who were having dropped calls with iPhone 12's. Maybe it would cure this charging issue too. No harm in trying.

I have recommended this charger multiple times here and multiple people have said it too solved their issue. Now, I will tell you this charger also charges my Apple Watch and the Qi wireless case for my Jabra Elite 85t (but it will charge AirPod Pro as well as any wireless headphone case).

My experience, and only my experience, indicates it is that simple. Two things appear to be needed. A charger with sufficient output and the phone must be properly positioned on the charger. In all cases that means the phone must be horizintally close to perfectly centered and, depending on the phone, it might need to be raised above the bottom shelf by a fraction of an inch or so. My sample is much too small to know if this is correct for all problems but getting the right position against the charger charger cconsistently worked for me on all our chargers.

Same issue. I have a Nanami Fast Charge stand that worked flawlessly with my previous iPhone 11Pro but with the new 12Pro it will not charge at all, have to use a lightening cable.

What happened in terms of Wireless charging after Force Restarting (not restarting, FORCE RESTARTING) your phone as has been suggested and shown to work in this thread for others?

I agree that they aren't "officially" on here like other IT vendors are on their community or knowledge-base sites but they certainly read these forums and know about this.

The best thing to do is actually to contact Apple Support within 30 days of purchase (or your wireless provider if that is where you got it). That way this is documented as a problem as clearly this phone is not compatible with all Qi chargers as advertised. The feedback site is not documentation of a problem.

I just got the iPhone 12 Pro Max yesterday and noticed the exact same thing with all 3 of our wireless chargers (different brands and models). One of the Qi stand models will work only if I put the phone on its long edge (landscape), but not in the standard portrait orientation. The other two chargers won't work at all. All 3 chargers work fine with my previous iPhone 11 Pro Max.

I spent 30 minutes with Apple tech support and they not only could not confirm there was an issue, but said to bring the phone into an Apple Store for them to look at it! So they obviously did a TERRIBLE QA on these Pro models and don't care that users won't be able to use most of their wireless chargers at home, office, or in the car, as well as leverage any that are in cafes and public places. THIS IS A HUGE BLUNDER!

Anyway, couldn't get tech support to acknowledge the problem so obviously they wouldn't offer any advice or information regarding a possible software fix in a future update (assuming it can be done). If this is a problem with the hardware and its circuitry positioning, then they will have a lot of unhappy customers.

The 12 Pro Max arrived yesterday with 14.1 so I updated it to 14.2, also also tried the full reboot like others have suggested, but nothing has helped.

Received my iPhone 12 Pro Max 11/13. It worked fine in my new Silverado with a factory charger as well as two wireless charging cradles in the house. It stopped working with all of them on Monday 11/16. On Tuesday, I read about rebooting the phone. That made it start working again. Today it quit again on all chargers and a reboot made it start working again. My wifes iPhone 11 works fine with all of the chargers and never has an issue.

This is obviously a problem with the iPhone 12 and is not a problem with the chargers
