iPhone 12 pro won’t wirelessly charge

Picked up new phone. It will not charge on my Qi wireless charger. My family members’ iPhone X and 11 charge fine. Mine initially shows the green battery, then it disconnects from charging and the charger flashes a blue LED, signifying it is no longer connected. This despite using different charger blocks.

Sorry, but your assertion it's not the charger because it works with previous phones is the wrong analogy for iPhone 12. The charging coil in iPhone 12 is not in the same spot as it was in previous phones to accommodate MagSafe. That doesn't mean iPhone 12 isn't compatible with Qi chargers. It actually is. But it likely means your current chargers may not position the charging coils properly with the relocated spot on iPhone 12.

We had charging issues when we first got iPhone 12 and 12 Pro Max. After much research, I came to the conclusion my older chargers weren't going to work with iPhone 12. So I bought new chargers and haven't had any issues since. Our new chargers are dual coil and were repositioned to better align with iPhone 12. And this is important, many older chargers don't have higher watt QC 3.0 charging bricks. So my new chargers have 18W QC3.0 bricks. Bam, no issues charging wireless since and it's been over 2 months now.

I posted previously about just switching to iPhone for the iPhone 12. And finding out all of my Qi wireless chargers didn’t work to charge my phone. So after several months of trying and no luck a friend of mine who works for apple support said they hadn’t even heard of the issue. And asked me to try the MagSafe charger and see if it does the same thing. And the MagSafe charger works every time with or without case. Where all the other chargers I have will not charge the phone.

just an interesting update that may be found helpful.

even though it doesn’t solve the issue of all of the wireless chargers I already had being worthless now.

I just bought a 2021 Ford Escape with a wireless charging pad and had this problem. I have tried the hard reset and as others have said it is a temporary solution. I then changed how I placed my iPhone 12 pro max. I saw that if placed it with the lightning port towards me AND the phone was unlocked it did not lose connection, even when it went into auto-lock. I'll admit this was sitting in my garage, but it seemed to work.

I have same issue- charger shows connected, but phone not receiving charge

hard reset of phone corrects but appears only for short period, as mine has done it stdin

I noticed that when placing on charger, it either connects straight away or pauses- if pauses, it won’t charge

as a reset corrects, it does point to software since the charger works on other models and AirPods etc

This is SO frustrating! I went out and purchased two more Qi chargers that advertised (works with iPhone 12) and both are sketchy at best. I have to constantly adjust and wiggle the phone on the base to get a connection and then sometimes it only lasts for a few minutes and stops charging. The sensitivity and/or "hot spot" on these new phones is TERRIBLE!!!!! At least with all third party wireless chargers. Note that all of these chargers work great with our family's iPhone 11, X and 8.

Apple really screwed up on this one. If an update doesn't fix it, then I'm going to return my 12 Pro Max and go back to the 11 as I rely on easy wireless charging at my desk, in my car, and on my bedside table. I refuse to fight with the connection and wake up another morning with a dead phone.

Only way my iPhone 12 Pro charge at wireless charger is connecting phone via lighting cable and when it's charging put at wireless charger and disconnect lighting cable. It stay charging wireless until full charge. I don't think is software related because my iPhone X charge wireless with the latest IOS. I think the magnets at model 12 is the problem.
