New Apple Watch not connecting to cellular

I bought a new SE watch yesterday. After i bought the watch and it was activated on my account T-mobile changed my sim card on my iphone because i am a sprint costumer. I got home excited to set up my watch. It asks to log into the device from the watch app. When i put in the number for the watch and the pin, i get an error message saying "Hang tight! This feature will be available soon. (code 1631)". It shows no iccid, and no sim. Tmoblie said its an apple issue. Apple says its a carrier issue. I have the service added on my plan. I have reset, restarted, disconnected bluetooth, updated phone and watch ios. Still Nothing. Any help here?

Yes. In my case, I had a newly installed T-Mobile SIM card put into my iPhone to replace the old Sprint SIM card. The problem was that the numbers assigned to the Apple Watches were Sprint numbers and the T-Mobile SIM wouldn’t/couldn’t activate the Sprint watches until I took my iPhone back to T-Mobile and had them put the Sprint SIM card back into my iPhone.

I'm not sure if this helps your Verizon situation. I would just make sure that the watch phone numbers and the iPhone you use to activate the watch are both using the same carrier.

Same issue. T-mobile sent me a new sim I never asked for and kept getting annoying alerts about notifying me that I needed to switch my sim to the new t-mobile one and as soon as I did, my watch had no cellular service and I can’t find a way to fix it. I’ve been paying for it for 3 months now with no cellular service since it stopped working after that. So frustrating. My watch worked fine for a whole year until then. Now i never even wear it and am paying monthly for the service. They need to get it together. If I put my old sprint sim back in it, will it work? I still have it as I swapped the sims myself after they sent it to me in the mail and not by someone in store. Help!!!!

I had an almost identical experience & have the same series 5 watch that I’ve had working fine for a year until 3 months ago when that whole t-noble SIM card switch from sprint they kept insisting on with annoying notifications so they sent me one in the mail and I switched it out and my phone works fine but my watch they don’t seem to be able to figure out. We did all of those same steps repeatedly for hours out of my dad with nothing to show for it. They seem clueless that this is an issue and one that apparently many of us are experiencing. I’m past the point of ****** off this has gone on so long and meanwhile, they are still charging me for the cellular plan on my watch this whole time I haven’t been able to use it. 3 months. Ugh. Let me know if you eventually get any solution or answer to this mess.
