I just got my new iphone 12. I immediately realized i couldn’t switch the battery status from a bar to a percentage. Having to swipe down from the top left is super annoying. What’s most annoying is that its not even on the lock screen without swiping down or swiping right. I’d like the battery percentage to be there without having to swipe anywhere. How do i switch from the bar to the percentage? This is really bugging me.
You could buy an iPhone with a Touch ID button that has not been updated and never do so.

Restore your iPhone from a backup you've previously made. If you never made a backup, then take this as a learning experience, and note to always backup your iPhone prior to updating it. That way, you can have something to restore your iPhone from, should anything go wrong after the update.

I do not own an iPhone 12, but, if ends up not showing, inform Apple of it. Apple will not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is going on and what needs to be fixed.
How to Inform Apple of This:
You cannot. That is not an option in iOS 14.
