Multiplayer Arcade

We bought an Apple TV 4K. We have also purchased a subscription for Arcade. There you can use multiplayer games. We don't have controllers. Still, some games indicate that this is not necessary. How can you play these games with multiple players? We already have the remote button on the different Iphones. Do you all have to share the same Apple ID, or do you all have different Apple IDs? How do you set up that you can play a multiplayer game from the same sofa at the same time? Help!
