iPad email showing wrong name

On all but one of my Apple products my email was sending to recipients showing my correct name, but the iPad was showing a name from a previous family user (kids that tinker!). Apparently this "was" an easy fox with iOS 13 and below, but impossible to correct with a simple setting change with iOS 14


I had gone through every setting on iPhone, MacBook, iCloud and iPad to see where this name that was showing for my email was set, but couldn't find it anywhere. I narrowed it down to the iPad being the only device affected after numerous "test" emails sent to myself.


There is only one way to correct this bug - delete the account from the iPad and reinstate it.


Settings > Mail > Accounts > Select the affected account > SIGN OUT - Jump through apple hoops - Issue fixed!
