creating hotkey or keyboard shortcut to paste specific text phrase

I created a hotkey so I could hit a few keys rather than typing out my email address each time (I am telling people what my email address is when sending from a different application). I now want to edit this hotkey to include a phrase before my email address. I have looked on several forums but I can't figure out how to do it. I am not super tech. savvy, so the simpler the instructions the easier. Thanks!

Have you looked in System Preferences > Keyboard > Text > Replace With?? That is where this is normally done.

I have no idea what you did. You can use text substitution in Keyboard preferences (click on the Text button.) I use third-party utilities for this - Keyboard Maestro, TextExpander, or Typinator.

Thanks for the replies. I did the replace text and works. In the screen shot below, you can see I created an email shortcut with a hotkey. I'm not sure how I did it!

How did you create the hotkey, in the first place? I'd go there to make changes.

Thanks for the reply. I did think of that. I believe I went to AppleScript but I can’t seem to see where that is now and can’t find my old entry.

Did you use a preferences pane? There is a Shortcuts button in Keyboard prefs. I do not recall any macOS built-ins for using AppleScripts unless you used Automator.
