What is happening to my file names and how can I stop it? I am copying photos from my mac book iPhotos to a portable hard drive and the file names are being changed to UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_3e3.jpg etc

Thanks for your reply. I am very much a novice on this. I am using the standard Apple Photos on a Mac Book to a folder on a portable hand drive, using cut & paste or drag & drop. I want to transfer them to a PC for editing and making up albums.

I am not sure what the difference between iPhotos & Photos is.

If you're transferring to PC then use the file -> Export -> Unmodified Original command.
Do you mean Iphotos, or Photos? How are you copying them?
