Meross or HomeKit issue?

Updated the firmware and all is good. The Home App no longer complains stating there is a firmware update.


Then I look at the Home Settings and noticed that the Meross status reads No Restrictions. All my other HomeKit devices read Auto. When I change the Meross to Auto, all of sudden Home says there is a Firmware Update.


Check the Meross App and all up to date.

Add a HomeKit accessory to the Home app

Unhelpful.


Click on Get Support and there is no HomeKit option.


If you require replication steps here they are.


  1. Plug in Meross Smart Plug to Power
  2. Open Home App
  3. Scan HomeKit QR
  4. Meross Smart Plug gets added.
  5. In Home App click on Home Settings
  6. Wi-Fi Network & Routers


Observe that Meross Power Point reads : No Restriction


  1. Change the option to Automatic
  2. Back


Observe that Home App provides a Notification saying Update Available


  1. Open Meross App
  2. Account
  3. Firmware Update


Observe that plug(s) are all up to date.


  1. Go back to Home App
  2. Home Settings
  3. Wi-Fi Network & Routers
  4. Meross Power Point
  5. Change from Auto to No Restriction


Observe that Home App no longer says there is a Firmware Update.
