Ipad Air 2020 + Apple pencil & Kindle/ibooks

Wondering if doing annotations in a purchased book in the kindle app or ibooks is supoprted by the ipad air 2020 with apple pencil? I want to be able to write notes on the margins of my books in both of the apps.

How can I select text in Books Highlighting and copying lines in Books. I can’t select any text in recently purchased Apple books. I like to do that to take notes. Also sometimes I want to look up definitions of single words by selecting them. I no longer can select text in Books.

Apple Notes lag when taking handwritten notes on iPad Pro with Apple Pencil I have the 2nd generation iPad Pro and noticed a lot of lag after updating to iPadOS 16.1. This is especially prominent as the size of the notes increase (i.e. more than 4 - 5 pages). At this point, the current note is completely unusable. I have also noticed that if you close the notes once the lag appears, apple notes does not save the 'laggy portion' as well. I restarted the iPad and also ensured no apps were running in the background. Lag remains.
