Logic Pro X - Strange automation behaviour - Bug or expected?

Video has it all, but I will try to explain it. Logic pro automation does not respect the automation level if it starts at the start of a region and the playhead also starts at the same start of the region.

Is this expected behaviour? Is there something I can change to make it work like other DAWs?

logic pro 10.5 - Accidental shortcut? Bug? Region jumps to left of screen in edit window Hello Kind Geniuses - I've looked all over the internet and I'm convinced I clicked some shortcut by mistake and now Logic is doing this annoying thing. I've poked around a lot but may not know the terminology, so please be gentle with me. NORMALLY - In the tracks window, I can use the marquee tool to cut by selecting and hitting the delete key. The track stays put and does what I command. I prefer doing that in the EDIT window, as I have for a couple of years with this program. NOW - When I click the marquee tool in the region and hit delete, the whole region jumps to the left of my screen in the Edit window. This is maddening when it is unintended. I'll be in the middle of fine tuning and I spend a lot of time chasing down edit points. I have since developed a different work flow to get through this project but I am turning to you sexy people for guidance after much internetting. HOW do I make it stop? Is it a 10.5 issue? It started around the time of the upgrade, but I'm not sure. Good things will happen to you if you can answer and post this. I really appreciate it. Thank you!

Logic Pro X will not Beat Map from Region I am trying to beat map from region, I have selected the region, but I keep getting the attached pop up error message. I have looked in my Region Inspector and cannot find any setting that states Follow Tempo. I went into my Smart Tempo settings as well and tried to change those settings back to default as well. Not sure what I'm missing. :(

How frustrating, how long has it been a bug for?

I could do a workaround, make the playhead start before the automation but it is so annoying I am just going to go back to ableton live til it's fixed.

It's a bug. Even I can't reproduce this behaviour right now, I know it from the past.
