It shows in my iPhone also but I figured it happens when I'm using Camera with LIVE feature. When I close Camera app fast, sometimes it shows camera have been used recently by Camera or microphone and sometimes it shows microphone has been used by unknown. I think it is linked with iOS how it closes apps. I don't think this 'bug' happens only with Camera app, maybe it can create problem with other apps. You can check it out for yourself.
ive got it too , closed all apps and turned mic off for all apps
Your screenshot suggests that you have two wireless devices:
You may need to check the Bluetooth devices that are paired with your iPad:
Settings > Bluetooth > [My Devices]
I have the same problem even though my Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are switched off. Also I checked all the apps that are allowed to use microphone and switched those off also.
i have no idea what is using my microphone.
Okay so same thing here I’ve got orange dot with a microphone in next to it says unknown, I’ve checked my Bluetooth devices I have 4 but none of them are connected when I have the orange dot I have nothing else that could be connected other than my Wifi is this possibly the reason and if so is my iPad listening to me??
i disconnected my powerbeats pro but the orange dot is still appearing
Can you give me a more specifically instruction please
The orange (and green) dots are a new feature of iOS/iPadOS14 - fully described in the respective iPad and iPhone User Guides.
The orange dot indicates that a microphone, associated with your iPad, is enabled. Your screenshot indicates that you have a paired Bluetooth headset; this is very likely the microphone to which the icon is attempting to draw your attention.
A green dot, when it appears, indicates that an iPad camera is similarly enabled.
I hope this clarification proves to be helpful.
I have the same problem. I closed out all my apps, turned off microphone access for everything, turned Siri off completely, and disconnected from airdrop, wifi, and Bluetooth just to see what happened and it still won’t go away. I would be much less concerned if I knew what was accessing it because then I could turn it off.
