Using MacBook Air USB-C as audio input
My 2020 MacBook Air appears to not be allowing audio input via headphone jack. How do I use one of the USB-C ports as audio input?

It's a roundabout way of doing things, at best.
There are dedicated audio to USB converters, so many that I don't have anything in particular to recommend. They're not expensive. If you're searching for one the only suggestion I have is to ensure its specifications include unequivocal compatibility with macOS Catalina.
You need an audio to USB adapter. No MacBook Air has ever had a dedicated audio input.
Thanks.
So I have an RCA to HDMI convertor then an HDMI to USB-C cable to connect to the MBA.
Should this connection work?
