Since upgrading from my iPhone X to IPhone 12 Pro I’ve noticed in a group text (SMS) that I’m randomly missing texts. My husband is in the group too so I can see I’m missing multiple texts at random. Anyone else having this issue?

I’ve been having issues ever since getting my new phone. I transferred the data from iPhone X to the 12 Pro. When you switch phones apparently the phone number did not settle and needs to be “reconnected”. T-Mobile support had me:
1. From the Home screen, tap Settings > Cellular (iPhone)
2. Tap Network Selection.
3. Slide the Automatic slider to the off position to start scanning for networks.
4. Select desired carrier (T-Mobile)
Not really. There’s only been a workaround to download Message+ which replaces the native Messages app so far.
It’s an issue with IOS 14.2, until a new update is out it will likely not be fixed
Totally. It kept telling my sprint didn’t couldn’t recognize my account or pin. I had to call sprint to get my phone activated.

Did you try a hard reboot? Not sure if will work but I downloaded update and did a hard reboot and waiting to see what happens...
Sign up for Apple’s Beta program, then search for 14.3 and download, it completely fixed my issues
As I've stated many times, SMS and MMS messaging are features of your wireless plan provided by your wireless carrier. If it's not working then complain to them. It's NOT an Apple issue.
remove your phone number from your gmail account then re-sync it. It should work.
I’m also having the same problem on a brand new iPhone 12 pro. It seems to only occur in sms threads (where at least one contact is not an iPhone user) and certain messages are never received making it pretty impossible to facilitate any sort of conversation.
I only started experiencing dropped texts once I moved to the 12 Pro, and it only happens in Group threads where at least 1 person is not on an iPhone. The behavior seems random: someone will send several text messages in a row and one of them will randomly never arrive.
I've logged out/back in to iCloud on all devices, disabled/reenabled iMessage & SMS, restarted, etc.... nothing has fixed it.
I have an iPhone XR on 14.2 beta and I am also missing notifications. I notice it became more of a problem if I haven’t cleared notifications on my phone or my watch. Once I clear all notifications they come through like normal for a while then will randomly stop notifications again.
Same happening here to my wife and it seemed to start when she switched to the iPhone 12 pro about a week ago. She missed some messages from her family about her sister who is in the hospital. Also, we are on the same group chat and I am getting messages that she is not. Up until Friday, I was on an 11 pro, now we are both on 12 pro. We are on T-mobile ... it seems that mms from Verizon (non iPhones) are having issues. Not sure if we are missing others.
Some more info. I downloaded the T-mobile digits app (assume it is similar to the vzw message +) and was able to see the missing texts and confirmed that I am also having an issue in addition to my wife. It seems worse on her phone (she appeared to miss all the same plus more compared to me)
Be sure to submit feedback to the following Apple feedback website so the engineers get it directly. And even though the feedback form doesn’t have a tick box for iPhone 12 or the latest iOS, make sure you state the model of your phone and the iOS in the comments section.
