iPhone 12 not receiving group texts

I'm having this same problem, and when i originally reached out to Apple, I had not seen any other threads in the Apple Communities posts before. Now I'm seeing hundreds. Anybody have any luck? I'm literally on hold right now with Apple Support.

I get the same message as well, I can't download on my phone, I have no idea why. However, I can log in on a browser:

Same problem. One Android user in the group. There’s about 30 messages in the thread, I’ve received 5. One from the android user, other 4 from iPhone users. I’m watching my mothers older phone, no problem. I upgraded to the iPhone 12 pro when it came out. This is extremely frustrating, I have no idea what else I’m missing now

Your situation is almost identical to mine. I think all we can do is wait & hope Apple is testing this, finds the issue, and gets us a fix ASAP. With the iPhone 12 Pro Max on Pre-order, it’s in their best interest to get this fixed ASAP cuz as soon as this makes national news, their stock will take a big hit.

I'm having the same issues! Also, when I try to send pictures they won't go through at all and I don't see any pictures sent to the group but everyone else can see them. I'm on Verizon. I've tried to adjust everything and nothing is working.

i called Apple and AT&T, neither seemed to have a grasp of the issue. So frustrating that this hasn’t been escalated with 100’s of posts and calls.

I wonder if the # in the group texts matter. My issues Is with 15 people including Android and Apple. Has anyone experienced the issues with a small group text? Lee’s then 7 people?

I had this issue too, missing texts when in a MMS group text. I'm with Verizon and was able to resolve the issue through the chat tech support feature, they walked me through all the steps.

Essentially they'll ask you to reset your network settings, turn your phone off, they'll send signal to you on their end, you turn your phone on, turn your Bluetooth and wifi off, do a test call, restart your phone again and it should be fixed if not immediately then within an hour.

Am I seeing people reporting issues in retrieving txt messages from iphone imessage to iphone imessage???

I thought this was only an issue with random Android users?

If so, this is way bigger issue than I thought.

I recently sent an imessage to another iphone imessage user and it does say "delivered"...And they said they never got the message.

I just had this happen as well. Three iPhone users. I’m the one with the 12 pro. I initiated the group text. One of the iPhone users could not see anything I sent, but the other one could.

This is ridiculous. Clearly an issue with iMessage on the 12 pro.

Hello, my family recently upgraded. iPhone X to iPhone 12. My husband now has an iPhone 12 and my dad and I have the iPhone 12 pro. We also upgraded our service plan with Verizon. Out of me, my dad and my husband, I am the only one that is randomly missing group texts. It happens in SMS group texts where at least 1 person doesn't have an iPhone. It happened in an SMS group text of 9 people, 8 people, and 7 people. I tried most of the fixes suggested here. On my own, I did a reset of network settings, toggled the SMS, MMS, and Group messaging settings, and turned the phone off and on. I wasn't sure if that fixed the problem, so I submitted feedback to Apple about this problem but didn't speak to any Apple support since I decided to first check if Verizon could help me. My first call to Verizon tech support, they had me do the same thing: toggle SMS, MMS, and Group messaging, but they also had me toggle iMessage setting; they had me reset my network settings and turn phone off then on. I still wasn't sure that this fixed the problem, so today I called a different department at Verizon, and they had me toggle my iMessage and also go to the "Send & Receive" part to ensure that my cellphone number AND appleID were activated under iMessage. I also asked the tech support rep to check for my "integrative messaging" feature to be activated (which is something I saw another Verizon iPhone 12 user did which fixed their problem), but he said that it didn't apply to my situation. After all this, I THINK that I have been getting all my group texts so far, but I hope this lasts. I will post again if there are any updates. I really hope Apple addresses this too, since so many of us are having a problem.

I am having the issue as well. With Verizon. IPhone 12 Pro. From what I can tell I think the missing messages are only in group texts. Some texts from certain people come through, others from same people don’t.

I kinda followed the steps you listed that your carrier had you do where I just reset the network settings. I’ve sent a text to the same group chat where I first noticed the problem, and asked them to respond when they receive my message. All but one have responded so far. I know he’s at work so I’ll give it a few. In the meantime, what “signal” did Verizon send to your phone during the steps you listed??

We also upgraded from iPhone X to iPhone 12 pro. This has happened to us as well. I'm missing responses from both group texts as well as individual texts. Someone mentioned to my husband that they did not received a text he sent when he questioned them about it. Also, I did not receive a text from another person when they responded to me. I gave feedback to Apple; hope they remedy this soon as it's frustrating!

I am also having this problem. I am randomly not getting certain messages in group threads, so far I've only noticed it with SMS (green bubble) android people. iMessage threads seem fine. Does anyone have any working steps to resolve??

Ok so in addition to the missing sms text messages, I’ve also noticed that the SMS messages i do receive do not sync their read status across my devices. I have text message forwarding setup on my iMac and iPad Pro. Before the sms would be received on each device and if i read it on one it would clear the notification as read on the other two devices. Since I upgraded to the 12 pro this is not longer occurring. Any one else?

I’ve done all of the following: signed out of iCloud, disable messages in iCloud, disabled iMessage on each device and it’s still happening.

To update the original issue: T-Mobile followed up with me today indicating they could track the SMS messages I sent as well as the ones sent to me and they all routed properly. Meaning they went from my device to the t-mobile server then were sent out appropriately. Also they could see the messages sent to my number and showed that the t-mobile relay server sent them to my device. They stated the issue is either with my SIM card (which I’ve already swapped twice) or the iPhone hardware/software. Come on Apple fix this.
