iPhone 12 not receiving group texts

Mine started last week. I got a text from a colleague in a group chat thanking everyone. I did not get the original text. I have done everything I can possibly think of and thought it must just be the original person but then today the husband text in a group chat thanking a different original texter. So it seems to be group chats. No imessage chats only the group with green (Android) text. I am with Xfinity so totally different carrier than others have mentioned.

My wife and I just got ours (12pro, 12mini, both Verizon) and we of course are having the same problem. She “likes her phone“ it doesn’t seem concerned about missing random text messages. I am beside myself that this is an issue that appears to be going on since October. I did my obligatory wasting my time with Verizon support than Apple support yesterday for an hour and 15 minutes, apples answer was to reset all settings on my phone.I haven’t done that yet. My real question to this group is: beyond sharing that I’m having the same problem on a msg board they’ve ignored for 7 months- what else can be done? Anything? Anybody in the media? :-)

I've been having this same issue and thought I was crazy.

I tried another site's suggestion of clearing out texts and restoring network settings.

He had to toggle it back on for my account. It was instant tho, no restart or refresh was needed. I also recently upgraded my plan and I think that may have had something to do with it.

You're certainly free to make your voice heard wherever and however you want. That said, you really should do it at the party who is most likely at fault. Your carrier.

Same issue here, seems to only be the group chats where an android user is part of. Both iphone and android messages are being omitted from the group chats. Come on Apple!!! Fix this please.

‪Yes— make sure you report it to apple. It’s not a carrier issue. Been working on it with @AppleSupport for the last week.‬

Solution = use a third party encrypted messaging app, eg, Signal — these problems and more will simply evaporate 😃

This has been very frustrating. I have an iPhone 12 Pro and Verizon. I've now tried turning off 5G and only use LTE but no idea if it is working since I haven't gotten any texts from group chats yet.

Anyone tried turning off 5g and only using LTE. Does that work?

Did you have to call to update network carrier?

Apple update: I spoke to an Apple rep yesterday 12/17/2020. They admit they are aware of the group messaging problem and the software developers are looking into a fix.

I’m have the same issue with my text messaging since the upgrade not getting the alerts I just tried something I turned off my Bluetooth and I then get the alerts but I shouldn’t have to do that

Same problem here with regular iPhone 12. Has anyone tried turning off 5G in settings to see if this resolves the issue?

Same issue here since upgrading. I’m with T-Mobile and with, also with T-Mobile, has no issue on her iPhone XS. I’ve wiped network settings, toggled imessasage and mms off/on, and deleted the group thread several times.
