iPhone 12 not receiving group texts

Verizon, still missing certain pictures. Only noticing in group messages. I have reset everything, checked all settings. Spent an hour on tech support. Having this 1200 phone is costing me money. This is ridiculous. If I was late paying my Bill then you wouldn’t like that. Please own up and be the Apple product I have had since the 3GS . I maybe switching soon.

Wow ok, at least you got someone to help you! I’ve spend hours in the phone with apple and Verizon and they pretty much are trying to say its my fault 🤦🏼‍♀️

I’m wondering when Apple will respond and recognize that their previous “fix” did not work. There have been sufficient discussions on this site to verify there is an issue. Apple are you reading this thread? What are you doing about it? Hello? Hello?

The fact that there is a problem with a newly released product is not unusual. It is how a company responds to their problems that is the true test of that company's integrity and values. The fact that this has been going on for over a month and Apple has not even publicly acknowledged the issue is both shocking and telling of who they are as an organization. I have a ton of Apple products and have sworn by them for years. The fact that they are not taking responsibility has made me lose faith in this company. I cannot believe I am saying this, but I think it's time to switch to Android. Good bye, Apple. You've lost a faithful customer of 15+ years over your lack of accountability on this issue. I'm sure I'm not the first and will not be the last leaving you because of this issue.

Updated my iPhone XR sometime during this week (thanksgiving week), more correctly it did it on its own, and I stopped receiving texts from my wife and she was angry when I got home from work for not replying to her texts. Meanwhile I was in the process of getting a new iphone 12 pro max so I was thinking, maybe they are transferring my number (from tmobile to verizon) so I was guessing that it has something to do with. I just received my new 12 pro max today and messaging doesn't work. She has an android phone and also an iphone 7. She tested, her iphone 7 can send/receive sms to an android phone, meanwhile I can't receive any texts from her on my 12 pro max. We both installed WhatsApp messenger for now, but now i'm thinking returning this phone if Apple won't fix this, because my wife is not the only person who messages me who owns android and I can't convince 100s of people to install WhatsApp. What a terrible failure is this on Apple seriously. the sms not working...

After purchasing an AT&T iPhone 12 Pro Max (running ios 14.2) I did not receive any messages from one contact, who uses an XR, and the contact never received messages from me (these are imessages). After upgrading to ios 14.2.1, I was able to receive messages from the XR and the XR received messages from me one night. A day later, the problem persists. I tried everything listed on here and even downloaded the 14.3 public beta. Any thoughts?

I have an iPhone 12 Pro and I just updated to iOS 14.2.1, which was supposed to address SMS notifications not going through and I’m still not getting my notifications :( really frustrating coz some people will text me and I won’t see the message until I open the messages app

I have been having the same issue! My mom does not own an iPhone and I have been texting her and wondering why she's not replying... turns out she had been replying the whole time and I did not receive any texts! It is also frustrating having a new phone and having to verify things by phone number through an SMS text and not being able to receive any of them!

I have the iPhone 12, and I'm having the same issue and I'm not sure for how long, I just found out today by accident that I'm not receiving SMS from android users. I'm not sure how many text messages I missed.

Also, my iPhone 12 was dropping calls very frequently, and when I called Apple support they said that I had to change the wifi calling off, although I previously had an iPhone 8 plus and I had no issues whatsoever. I'm not sure if it is my device that's faulty or the IOS, or it's from Verizon. At this point, I've not been happy with this upgrade!!

Looks like 14.2.1 is not fixing it for me. I was good for a little while but tonight there are a number of texts missing from a group thread. I can see the texts in Tmobile DIGITS though, just not on the phone.

My god is this ever getting fixed?? I have countless "not delivered" messages every time I'm in group messaging with Android users. You'd think Apple could do this one simple, yet extremely critical thing...worlds revolve around texts for gods sake.

ATT, iphone 12 Pro, running iOS14.3 -----> about to switch to Android myself with this garbage.

Is Apple working on this, the new 14.2 isn’t doing anything. I cannot get any text s from any of the companies that need to send me a code to prove it’s me, this is crazy, how the heck did this happen and why is Apple not taking this seriously? I am missing at least 30% of my calls and Texts, I ported number from Sprint to ATT, I’ve done this before, this is just ridiculous. What can we do?

14.3 beta works for me too and has been stable however scrolling freezes on 14.3 on my iPad Pro 12.9 4th gen ,,, just pathetic for Apple, sorry I ever bought it!! Won’t buy another apple product again!!!

I'm having the same problem, and it seems this issue is STILL going on over a month or two after the release of the 12 pro max. Still searching for fixes/updates as my friends are not getting my group text messages.

Have they found out the cause to this? I’m having the same problem “I’m also having the same problem on a brand new iPhone 12 pro. It seems to only occur in sms threads (where at least one contact is not an iPhone user) and certain messages are never received making it pretty impossible to facilitate any sort of conversation.”
