iPhone 12 not receiving group texts

Since upgrading from my iPhone X to IPhone 12 Pro I’ve noticed in a group text (SMS) that I’m randomly missing texts. My husband is in the group too so I can see I’m missing multiple texts at random. Anyone else having this issue?

Yes, I have been having the same issue since upgrading, however I have the iPhone 12. My phone also says I have left the conversation on every group text on my phone, which I know is not the case. I've called Apple a few times and they say its just carrier issue. There are posts on MacRumors about this same issue. I do not believe this is a carrier issue if it's happening to multiple people.

I feel so seen! This is happening to me and my wife as well!

we both upgraded on 10/23/20 to the iPhone 12 Pro and have Verizon and we are both missing random SMS/MMS messages.

I’ve contacted Verizon and Apple and both pointing fingers at each other and no one can give me any answers.

I've tried resetting the phone, resetting network, hard boot, removing SIM card, deleting thread of SMS/MMS messages.

I cannot find any rhyme or reason to which messages I’m missing.

I’ll get a few and my wife will miss those and then I’ll miss a few and she’ll get those and then we both will get a few and miss a few.

So frustrating!

Having the same issue. New iPhone 12 Pro. AT&T user. Have tried customer support with Apple and changed out my SIM card with AT&T. No help. I'm on a 12-person group text about our kids, and there is one Android user. Everyone seems to get my messages, but I am missing most of theirs, even if it comes from another iPhone. This only happens when there's an Android in the mix. My wife is on the chain as well so I know exactly which messages are missing. She is on ios 13 and I am on 14.

Incredibly frustrating, given that I paid $1300 for this phone.

I agree its not a carrier issue, the same happens whether I'm on cell service or wifi. Also, some of the text I don't get in the group are from iPhone users. How does something work perfectly for 15 years all of a sudden stop working? Apple please at least acknowledge this is a known issue and that you are working on it. We'll all feel much better.

Having the same problem here. There is no carrier issue, the only variable that has changed in all of my situations (multiple text threads) is my new IPhone.

At some point it would great if Apple Support acknowledged this issue, owned it and demonstrated their intent to find a solution.

You know, instead of the usual Apple “our stuff always works” and blame someone else sanctimony.

Yup, I'm having the same issues. I've looked and read all the replies and finally sent Apple support and Tweeted this issue in a very aggressive manner. This is totally unacceptable..just the fact that this has been going on for awhile and Apple has not done anything about this. I would say the carrier, but apparently, it's not just one carrier that people are having this issue.

Plain and simple, this should not be an issue at all.

I tried everything that everyone has mentioned and the problem still exists.

I have the iPhone 12, my friend who has the iPhone 7 or 8 also has this issue and I’m certain they are on a lower IOS version.

What Apple needs to do is test various models (iPhone X seems to have the least amount of issues) against older android phones to new android phones. I also am not experiencing issues with newer android phones like the Samsung s9 and 10 models. Apple also needs to test this against different carriers with all these devices. We should not be spending hours and days troubleshooting.

This issue is only with iPhone to Android or visa versa.

Update: I was able to fix this on a case by case scenario. 1 friend who has Google Pixel 2 (Verizon) and another friend with Samsung s9 (at&t).

Basically I first ensured that all message settings were enabled on my iPhone 12 pro. Then, I deleted/removed all messages from them in the past when I had my android phone that ported over when I did a transfer. Rebooted my iPhone so that there’s no residue cache and finally started to receive txts from them. Go figure!!??
