Mail on iOS 14 does not fully sync (with inbox on Macbook)

My old iPhone 7 running iOS 13 was fine. I migrated everything to my new iPhone 12 Pro with iOS 14 on it and mail deleted on Macbook stays in the inbox unchanged on iOS. New mails are coming in btw.

The mailbox is a paid gmail (g Suite) account. I can replicate this in a different mail app on that same iPhone 12. Spark email app, which I just tested, does exactly the same. Some bug on OS level or IMAP client on IOS?

It's the same behavior as in this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250752765

Hello gerardjp,

It sounds as though you're emails aren't syncing as expected between your Mac and iPhone. You mentioned this happens with a third-party mails apps as well. There is a possibility you may need to reach out to the email provider, but before it leads there do you notice the emails remaining when signing in to the email providers website?

Today I tried deleting all of my Mail accounts and the Mail Application from my iPad. I then rebooted my iPad and reinstalled mail. Next I added back all of my email accounts. No change. The inbox states downloading messages but in never fully syncs. Again, I don’t understand why this is occurring as my wife’s brand new iPad has iOS 14.0.1 on it (I have 14.2) and it’s fine. Wish I had never upgraded to 14.2. Thinking about abandoning Apple Mail and going with gmail or Outlook but I want my mail and calendars to sync across platforms and I want to be able to share calendars. Anybody else doing this?

Hello - I am having the same issue and have spent a good amount of time on the phone with an Apple support specialist. There is a clear sync problem on the 12 Pro. This is impacting my Gmail, Outlook and Exchange Server accounts. All previous iPhones (most recently XS) and iOS versions have supported a sync. However, the iPhone 12 Pro is not supporting a sync of action taking on the other. Both are receiving emails simultaneously, but neither is reflecting the delete or folder moves that take place on the other. After being on the line with a support specialist for 20 minutes, the line just disconnected as I was on hold waiting for an elevation of the issue to a supervisor:(. Very frustrating.

Similar issue here. MacBook Mail works fine. iOS 14.2 Mail iPhone and iPad stopped syncing the inbox for my internet provider's IMAP email account. Gmail account works fine across all platforms. Spent hours on the phone with Apple Support and my Internet Provider. Deleted and re-added accounts on both iPad and iPhone several times. On occasion after re-adding account some emails will show up in the inbox and then disappear as though being moved by a rule. However, they are still in the inbox in WebMail and on the Mac. Oddly, the rest of the folders appear to be syncing but the inbox is not. My iPhone is a 6s with 64gb and my iPad is an iPad Air2 with 128GB. This is a huge pain in the @ss.
