Headphones not recognized after sleep
This has been driving me crazy.
I have a mid 2012 15" rMBP.
For some time now (can't really remember when I first noticed this), Whenever I wake my mac from sleep, the headphones (whether they were plugged in before or not) are no longer recognised. Sound works fine, I just can't seem to switch from the internal speakers to the headphones (or external speakers).
This does not seem to be a hardware problem, since until the computer goes to sleep the headphones work fine - including after unplugging and plugging etc - and one I reboot the computer switching works fine; until the computer sleeps again.
The only workaround I've found this far is to restart the computer, which is quite annoying. It has to be something in the OS.
I haven't been able to find a solution and I've tried most of what I could find:
- resetting NVPRAM and SMC
- Erasing the files in ~/Library/Preferences/Audio
- Restarting coreaudio daemon
- putting the computer to sleep while playing something and waking it up with the headphones, without them and almost any variation of this including the 3 above them
- I've reinstalled the computer from scratch (avoided using my time machine backup to prevent re-acquiring the problem), but it's still here.
Help me obi-wan support community, you're my only hope.
