Apple Watch 4 keeps locking on Apple Logo since updating to watch OS 7

Since updating to Watch OS 7 and 7.0.2 my Apple Watch 4 keeps locking up on Apple logo and has to be reset. I have tried all of the online remedies including find my watch and reset. Nothing works permanently. Also periodically the battery goes dead (less than 10%) after only a couple of hours of use after a full charge. Neither of these problems existed prior to OS update in September 2020.

Of note the watch has not been dropped, hit, subjected to emergence in water or any other abuse.

What type of iPhone is your Apple Watch paired to? Is the iPhone on the newest iOS software, iOS 14.2? If not, you'll want to make a backup of your iPhone and then update the software. Here's information on How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, and also how to Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.


If the issue persists, you'll want to restart both the Apple Watch and the iPhone. Often this simple step will refresh the apps and software on the device to solve numerous problems you may encounter.

Apple Watch 4 with latest Watch IOS and iPhone 7 with latest iOS. In fact just updated to latest Watch OS and iPhone iOS today. Hopefully this will resolve the problem. Previously I had reset watch numerous times without resolving the problem. As the problem began with updating the Watch to watch OS to 7.0 I believe that was the issue. I am disappointed that Apple didn’t acknowledge the problem and promise a fix with a new update.
