AirPods Pro Microphone Issue on MacBook

A few weeks ago, I was on a zoom call and found out that all of a sudden, the microphone quality on my AirPods Pro had dropped dramatically. When using my AirPods Pro microphone with my MacBook, I sounded like Bane, but even more staticky. It was impossible for anyone to understand me. The confusing part was that the issue seemingly wasn't with the microphone itself, because when my AirPods are connected to my iPhone, the microphone quality is perfect. It's only an issue when they're connected to my MacBook. Today, I finally found a workaround; turning off noise control. All of a sudden, my AirPods worked with my MacBook again. I really don't want to keep noise control off, but I cannot figure out any other workaround. Is this an issue with the AirPods, my MacBook, or what?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities dude256,

We understand you're looking for help with the sound quality from your AirPods Pro mic, while connected to your Mac. We'll be happy to help!

To start, we recommend working through the steps detailed on the following page: If Active Noise Cancellation isn't working as expected on your AirPods Pro

If there's still no change, let us know if you've tried using your AirPods Pro in more than one application from your Mac. For example, do you encounter the same behavior on a FaceTime call?

Cheers!
